About WPC Doors

A wooden or flush door in a bathroom swells at the bottom, then stops closing. A WPC door does not absorb water, so it keeps its size and shape in bathrooms, kitchens and washed-down corridors, and termites and borers do not attack it.

Green Plastwood makes two constructions. Solid doors are a single WPC core, 17 to 35 mm thick. 3 layer doors add a rigid PVC skin on both faces for buildings where doors take heavy daily use. Both come in five standard sizes, and thickness, width, length and density can be customised on bulk orders.

WPC 3 Layer Doors

A WPC core between two rigid PVC outer layers of 0.8 to 1 mm. The skins make the face harder and smoother, so the door stands up to daily knocks in hotels, schools, offices and hospitals.

What is the difference between a solid door and a 3 layer door?

A solid door is a single WPC core at 550 kg/m³, 17 to 35 mm thick. A 3 layer door has a 600 kg/m³ WPC core between two rigid PVC outer layers of 0.8 to 1 mm, 24 to 35 mm thick, for a harder and smoother surface.

What is the density of a WPC door?

Solid doors are 550 kg/m³ and 3 layer doors have a 600 kg/m³ core; both can be made up to 750 kg/m³ on order. A lab-tested door and board sample showed 0.66 g/cc density, 0.2% water absorption, a UL-94 V-0 rating and 65 MPa compressive strength.

Which designs are available?

What is the minimum order for coloured doors?

Ivory is the regular colour. Other colours are made on a minimum order of 300 doors.

Can a WPC door be cut and fitted by a carpenter?

Yes. WPC is sawn, cut and screwed with traditional carpentry tools, and it holds screws well. A lab-tested door and board sample showed a screw withdrawal force of 1565 N.

Can door sizes be customised?

Yes. Thickness, width, length and density can be customised on bulk orders.
