About WPC Chaukhat
A chaukhat is the frame fixed in the wall that carries the door. It is also the part that fails first: it stands on a wet floor and it is the first thing termites reach. Green Plastwood chaukhats are made of wood polymer composite (WPC) at 750 to 1200 kg/m³, so they do not absorb water, swell or rot.
They are worked like wood. Your carpenter cuts, joins and screws them with the same tools, and the frame can be painted, polished or laminated. Choose single or double rebate, three profile models, four lengths and eight colours. Sizes and colours can be customised on bulk orders.

Single Rebate Chaukhat
One rebate, the step where the door shutter sits, for one door. This is the standard frame for bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and main doors.

A rebate on both sides of the frame, so two shutters can hang in one opening, for example a main door with a mesh door.

How To Choose A Size
- Measure the finished wall thickness, including plaster.
- Pick the frame width closest to it: 75, 100, 125 or 150 mm.
- Pick 50 mm thickness for light doors and 63 mm for heavier or main doors.
- Choose single or double rebate.
- Choose the length: 7 ft for standard doors, 8 to 10 ft for taller openings.
- Choose one of the 8 colours.

Installation Guide
A WPC chaukhat is installed the same way as a wooden one, with the same saw, drill and screws. It needs no termite treatment.
- Step 1
Cut The Posts And The Head
Cut the two vertical posts to the opening height and the head piece to the opening width, allowing for the joint you will use. The drawings show the types of cutting for vertical and horizontal posts.
- Step 2
Make The Corner Joints
Join the head to the posts with one of the joints shown. Screw the joint; WPC frames are joined with screws.
- Step 3
Fix The Frame In The Wall
Place the frame in the opening, check both posts with a spirit level, then fix it to the wall. Keep the frame square so the shutter closes evenly.

- Two vertical posts and one head piece of the right size
- A fine-tooth saw or a mitre saw
- Drill, screws and wall plugs or hold-fasts
- Spirit level and measuring tape
After Fitting
Clean the frame with a damp cloth. If you want a different shade, the frame can be painted, polished or laminated. In bathrooms, fix the frame before tiling so the tiles finish neatly against it.

WPC Chaukhat: Common Questions
What sizes are WPC chaukhats available in?
Single rebate frames come in 75 × 50, 100 × 50, 100 × 63, 125 × 63 and 150 × 63 mm, plus 60 × 30, 65 × 40, 90 × 45 and 90 × 63 mm. Double rebate frames come in 120 × 50, 125 × 63 and 150 × 63 mm. Standard lengths are 7, 8, 9 and 10 ft. Sizes can be customised on bulk orders.
What is the difference between single and double rebate?
The rebate is the step cut into the frame where the door shutter sits. A single rebate frame has one step and takes one door. A double rebate frame has a step on both sides, so two shutters can hang in the same opening, for example a main door and a mesh door.
Which model should I choose: Mould & Groove, Mould & Plain or Square?
They change the look of the frame edge, not its strength. Mould & Groove has a rounded edge with grooves on the back face, Mould & Plain has a rounded edge with a plain back, and Square has straight edges for a flat, modern look.
Are WPC chaukhats suitable for bathrooms and kitchens?
Yes. Green Plastwood WPC chaukhats are 100% water proof and moisture proof, so they do not swell, rot or warp in bathrooms, kitchens or other humid areas.
Do WPC chaukhats need anti-termite treatment?
No. The frames are termite and borer proof and bacteria and fungus resistant, so no chemical treatment is needed.
What is the density of Green Plastwood chaukhats?
Chaukhats are made at 750 to 1200 kg/m³. In lab testing by Alekh Plastics Testing Centre (Nov 2022) a door-frame sample showed 0.90 g/cc density, 0.2% water absorption, a UL-94 V-0 flammability rating and 2236 N screw withdrawal force.
Which colours are available?
Light Ivory, Yellow Ivory, Pure White, Beach White, Teak Wood, Chocolate Brown, Coco Brown and Black. Other (NFC) colours can be made on bulk orders.
Can a WPC chaukhat be painted or polished?
Yes. The frame can be painted, polished or laminated, and polishing costs less than on wood. Regular re-polishing is not needed.
How is a WPC chaukhat installed?
The same way as a wooden one. The posts and head are cut, joined at the corners and fixed in the wall opening with screws, using normal carpentry tools.
Can sizes be customised?
