About WPC Window Frame
A window frame sits in an outside wall, so it takes rain on one side and sun on the other. Wooden frames swell, then shrink, then the paint cracks and termites get in. A WPC frame does not absorb water and is not attacked by termites or borers, so it stays the size it was fitted.
Green Plastwood makes two window frame profiles, 70 × 30 mm and 120 × 50 mm, in 7 to 10 ft lengths and the same eight colours as our door chaukhats. They are cut, screwed, polished or laminated like wood. Profiles, lengths and colours can be customised on bulk orders.

Installation Guide
Window frames are cut, joined and fixed the same way as our door chaukhats. The drawings below are from the installation guide in our catalogue.
- Step 1
Cut The Posts And The Head
Cut the two vertical posts to the opening height and the head piece to the opening width, allowing for the joint you will use. The drawings show the types of cutting for vertical and horizontal posts.
- Step 2
Make The Corner Joints
Join the head to the posts with one of the joints shown. Screw the joint; WPC frames are joined with screws.
- Step 3
Fix The Frame In The Wall
Place the frame in the opening, check both posts with a spirit level, then fix it to the wall. Keep the frame square so the shutter closes evenly.

Window frames are made of the same WPC, at the same density, as our door frames. The results below are for a Green Plastwood WPC door frame sample tested by Alekh Plastics Testing Centre, Ahmedabad. Reports dated 24 November 2022.

Are WPC window frames good for exterior walls?
Yes. WPC is 100% water proof and weather and ageing resistant, and our catalogue lists it as best used as an exterior-grade material. It does not rot, swell or get termites like a wooden window frame.

Can WPC window frames be painted or polished?
Yes. WPC is processed like natural wood: it is cut, screwed, polished or laminated, and polishing costs less than on wood.
What is the density?
Window frames are made at 750 to 1200 kg/m³, the same range as our door chaukhats. A lab-tested door-frame sample showed 0.90 g/cc density, 0.2% water absorption and a UL-94 V-0 rating.
How is a WPC window frame installed?
Like a wooden one. The frame members are cut, joined at the corners with screws and fixed in the wall opening, using normal carpentry tools.
Do WPC window frames need termite treatment?
No. They are termite and borer proof, so no chemical treatment is needed.
